What it means "to fulfil"

"Now Jesus came to destroy sin, sickness and death; yet the Scriptures aver, "I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill."

In the 1828 dictionary:

"fulfil: To perform what is required; to answer a law by obedience.
If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well. James 2."

Jesus came to perform what is required, and to be obedient. "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears."
He was the Wayshower. This week's Bible Lesson is all about taking ACTION!

Because the Truth, Christian Science, is just sitting there, sounding nice, until I put it into practice!

How do I take action? I'm finally sharing what I know more and more… and I can, I must, do more! God help me to be more bold.

Re: What it means 'to fulfil'

Interesting to find that as we are active in Truth, it becomes increasingly evident that "our God is a living God!" When we become intolerant of that which is ungodlike, mocking our God-given dominion, whether it be an incessantly barking dog in the neighborhood, or a phone that is staticky(?), getting caught in traffic, - ongoing irritations... when we take responsibility for these symptoms, and "Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good."(S&H) then we develop moral fiber, and God is more real to us. From this standpoint, we are far more fit to bless our neighbor.
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty;"BB2 This is not an idle promise. It is the fact of our being IN SCIENCE!
