the devil

During this watch, I felt led to find what Kimball had to say about the devil, and a few good things came up which are very essential in our daily struggle with unreality. So I quote or paraphrase Kimball:

The devil´s name should be hypnotist, because all error is hypnotic. While there is no devil, evil is of such a nature that it amounts apparently to the same thing. It would be a poor devil that would not try to KILL those who wanted to kill him. Evil would do you up...take you off in a corner and mesmerize you.

A human manifests thought exterior to himself, that which is universally true or false. Each of us today is surrounded by the universal atmosphere of mortal mind, a collective influence, a contagion which we must recognize and resist.

Great book, Teaching and Addresses on Christian Science, by Edward A. Kimball, a teacher loved and respected by Mrs. Eddy.

This is a good one for me to keep in the forefront of my thought; I really appreciate how Eustace addresses this too.
