The "Raca" trap

Looking at the meaning of the word "Raca" I realize I have been guilty of thinking or saying this many a time.

"Raca" is an Aramaic term meaning "empty-headed", a derogatory term insinuating a person's stupidity. Now, when I hear or see certain people in the media, or some in our own local government, that seem to be very "Raca"--I really can't afford to go there anymore!

I've thought, "Thou fool" more than once…. and Jesus says I'm in danger of hell fire!

Guess I've brought this sin rooted in self-righteous anger upon myself. It's high time I pick up a new habit of seeing those who would appear offensive or dim-witted in the correct light…time to correct thought once and for all. I need to look through the false picture and claim, "Perfect God, perfect man… and that's not it!", EVERY time the suggestion "Raca" comes! And correct the false picture right away.

Anyone have any suggestions or experiences on seeing others correctly and not falling into the "Raca" trap?
