"That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you;"

Joshua 23:7 "That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you;"

That line really opened up a new perspective to me, one that this entire lesson seems to reinforce: I am not to here to react to circumstances—or to feel confined by them—I need to work each day to keep God in my thought constantly. I used to feel there was a world giving me information all the time and I was supposed to sort through for the useful and then discard the rest. Now I understand that I need to hold on to what is important—Truth, Life and Love—and discard what the world is sending me, so that I might be useful.

I need to have the right thought before I do anything. Whether it's drive down the street, do work for the church, talk to people, eat food, etc. —absolutely everything must start with God. There is no hope of being useful or having dominion if I am simply reacting to mortal belief all day long. If I fail to start from the right place, could I ever hope to finish right?

I am truly grateful for this lesson!
