Blessed are the pure in heart

This weeks Bible Study was on purity. It was packed full of practical steps and important points. One thing I took away was, what you held in your heart should be carefully examined. For example, as long as I hold onto any resentment I am not expressing purity. I came across an article where a writer described living with resentment and how it permeated your life. This was another good reminder to inspire reformation and desire for purity of thought.

"The moment you start to resent, you become its slave. It controls your thoughts, absorbs your digestion, robs you of your peace of mind and goodwill, and takes away the pleasure of your work. It ruins your practice of religion and nullifies your prayers. You cannot take a vacation without it going along. It destroys your freedom of mind and hounds you wherever you go. It is with you when you are awake, when you sleep. It is beside you when you drive your car and when you are on the job. It effects your joy and influences the tone of your voice. So, if you want to be a slave, harbor your resentments!"
