Careth Thou Not That We Perish?

...careth thou not that we perish? Sounds like some of my cries when mortal mind seemed so powerful in its assertions,and my "blindness" to its unreality made me feel so helpless, so desperate.

Jesus' answer to them and His response to the storm, strips error of its disguise, asserting man's dominion over the material sense testimony. It tells us we should have more faith in spiritual reality and NO faith in evil or what the material senses present. "Peace be still" shows spiritual authority over the raging storm.... with the result of great calm.

Hymn 148 used with confidence or without would be a great test of our faith in such times.

Re: Careth Thou Not That We Perish?

Thank you!
Here is the text for Hymn 148:

In heavenly Love abiding,
No change my heart shall fear;
And safe is such confiding,
For nothing changes here.
The storm may roar without me,
My heart may low be laid;
But God is round about me,
And can I be dismayed?

Wherever He may guide me,
No want shall turn me back;
My Shepherd is beside me,
And nothing can I lack.
His wisdom ever waketh,
His sight is never dim;
He knows the way He taketh,
And I will walk with Him.

Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;
Bright skies will soon be o’er me,
Where darkest clouds have been.
My hope I cannot measure,
My path in life is free;
My Father has my treasure,
And He will walk with me.

Re: Careth Thou Not That We Perish?

Thank you for posting the hymn.

This hymn was given me when I was moving from my house into an apartment. I was feeling many doubts and fears and this hymn alleviated all of them. It can be used for many different changes in life; moving, different job, ways of doing things, etc. If God is governing them, the changes will be a change for the good and only good. God cares for us.
