Many updates to the website lately. I like how the new format makes its especially easy to find information on a mobile device. I was up early this morning and was able to quickly browse to articles from early workers and found a good statement to work with. Thank you for putting these timeless truths at our fingertips.

Thank you George and all for your shares, during the Roundtable, about parenting. There were many things I needed to hear. I am sure it will bless many.

I would like to thank all the testifiers at the Wednesday evening services and also thank Jeremy who makes these testimonies so easy to find and listen to after the service. I find myself going back to the testimonies for support with my prayers and watches , as well as for comfort to help with right thinking. Thank you all!

It's interesting how often the possessive form of Jesus (Jesus') in Mrs. Eddy's writings (and possibly in the Bible) is read substituting the modern and colloquial possessive form (Jesus's). As far as I know we don't change the form of other words in either book, even when out dated. Only recently did I learn that Jesus's is considered acceptable in conversational English now, so I'm just catching up on that point. Love to all.

My husband and I had the privilege of attending the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at Plainfield Christian Science Church, Independent. What a thrill to see this beautiful church, standing as a beacon of Truth, with a banner inviting all to join this holy service. We were greeted by such warmth and love of the members, just like coming home! and the beautifully decorated and candlelit auditorium was the perfect atmosphere for this holy service. What a joy to listen and to sing along. I cherish every moment; and shared parts of the service with others on Saturday evening, who very much appreciated it.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude for all those dear members, who are standing strong and working diligently to send this message of the healing and saving Christ, Truth out into the world. Thank you!

I greatly enjoyed the Christmas Service, the Roundtable and the Sunday Service, they do meet a need for true Christian Science. What I like about the Plainfield C.S. Church is that a listener from far away can still feel he/she belongs and is present. It is inclusive, "user-friendly" It is something to be very grateful for.

I am very grateful for the Christmas eve service last week. The singing was beautiful and the children's voices brought joy to my heart. It was a great blessing that my family listened along with me and felt blessed by the Spirit of it, as well.

Thank you for the Christmas Eve service. It was very special to spend this time with friends.

Thanks to Mike and all for the Bible Study today whose topic was the Holy Ghost. I am so happy to be enlightened on this subject! How astounding to know that when we accept the Christ into our consciousness that the Holy Ghost is our comforter and guide. This "enlarged understanding" is the gift of gifts and frees us from mortal woes. " Acknowledge Jesus and then the Holy Ghost comes in and leads!"

The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service was beautiful. With tears of joy and gratitude I say thank you to all at Plainfield Christian Science Independent for helped me to understand what Christmas Eve really means and feel it in my heart, thank you. Last night during the service I felt as the song, Silent Night, says, “Silent night, holy night, All is calm, all is bright.” As my daughter also said at the end, “it was really beautiful.” I wish to all Merry Christmas.

In a recent Bible Study or Roundtable the subject of flattery came up, if I remember correctly. I found this interesting quote. "Love those who reprove thee, and hate those who flatter thee; for reproof may lead thee to eternal life, flattery to destruction."—E merson. It's a useful warning.

This wednesday December 23 the readings were so touching and clear, thank you Florence and Gary. the hymns were great too.

Yesterday a very heavy atmosphere of gloom was over our home. Thanks to the prayers of a Plainfield practitioner, one of the church's members, and our own prayers, the light broke through early this morning after a mostly sleepless night. Thank you to those who assisted, neither of whom I've had the chance to speak to, and thank you God.
#621 Luetuck 2015-12-22 16:26
I am very grateful for the description of the five kings, in Saturday's Bible study. Having each king explained as "states of human mind", made the whole text more understandable. It inspired me to look deeper within myself. Thank you all for your great work.
#620 DaleW 2015-12-22 16:08
Many thanks for including, in The Plainfield Independent newsletter for December, references to Mrs. Eddy's writings on Christmas. What a blessing to spend time with these during this very special season!

I received a wonderful surprise in the mail "The Independent Watcher's Monthly". Thank you Plainfield for meeting this need. It's a priceless guide in assisting me when I do the "Watches". Thanks to all who put it together.

Thank you all for each and every thing that made for such a beautiful healing Testimony Service past Wednesday night. The readings, music, hymns and testimonies, many based on the Christmas season, gave it a special sweetness. Afterwards, the harmony lingers on, and I thought, Christian Science can truly be called, the "Gift that keeps on giving!"

Thank you Joseph for your readings of the Lesson this week titled
IS THE UNIVERSE, INCLUDING MAN EVOLVED BY ATOMIC FORCE? the way you read helps me to understand the meaning of the words.
#616 jacob45 2015-12-14 02:35
I enjoy everything from the Plainfield Church, readings, music, singing, services, there is a special atmosphere emanating from this Church, which is hard to find anywhere else. It brings the not-so-easy teachings of Christian Science to life and clarifies them.
#615 chull 2015-12-13 17:52
Thank you to Jeremy and all participants at the Bible Study about Nehemiah and his strong trust in God. The realization that evil can only be stopped by God, because nothing can oppose God is very powerful for all us. Although evil tried to stop God's work over and over using many different methods to dishonor and frighten.... prayer, constant work, faith, and patience won and will always win.

Thank you Mary for sharing the quote from Mary Baker Eddy's Lesson of the Seventh Day p160 " As you think, you travel; as you love, you attract. You are today where your thoughts have brought you.You will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you. You cannot escape the results of your thoughts, but you can endure and learn, can accept and be glad."
After listening to the recent Round Table & Bible Lesson discussions I was prompted to pick up this book again & read the chapter on Teaching from this book. What a wealth of information. Here are a few more gems. "Man is not somebody or some thing; man is not person; man is a condition of consciousness. Man is a Soul thought. True thoughts constitute the individuality of man. What are these thoughts about? Are they about personality or are they about God?"p152 Also on p162 "God is law; you are obedience. God is answer; you are prayer. God is supply; you are demand. This is why I love this Church (Structure of Truth & Love) these profound Truths revealed through Christian Science are willingly shared with the world. Thank God Mary Baker Eddy fullfilled her mission as Revelator for this Age & she continues to Mother the world through her writings. THANK YOU PLAINFIELD.

I have really enjoyed the Bible questions for GOD THE PRESERVER OF MAN. I learned so much and am continuing to learn so much more as I read more from various different sources. Thank you Jeremy for the questions.
#612 DaleW 2015-12-10 10:14
Thank you so much for the beautiful readings in last night's testimony meeting (12/9) on the Kingdom of Heaven; also for the words quoted from the Bible: "the joy of the Lord is your strength" and from Mrs. Eddy (part of what was said): just live love, be it, love, love, love (from We Knew Mary Baker Eddy, Book 2). All these words were so well illustrated in every single inspiring, healing testimony. Thank you all!

Many years ago, in a period of despair, I found Christian Science which certainly helped, but the Christianity part pretty much eluded me. More recently, months ago now, thankfully the Plainfield Church Internet site was brought to my attention. Thanks in no small part to a Plainfield practioner's patient and persistent efforts and the many ways the Church is such a blessing, I'm beginning to get a sense of the Christianity part which had been missing from my childhood as well. Thank you Plainfield. Thank you God.

I must give thanks for our watches. The posted one for the past week has been a constant reminder that our well being is already established so do not labor to "fix"something. Also the Saturday unity watch was so powerful. here is part of it......."Anima l magnetism has no argument to sway our hearts, stop our work, or deny God's idea their rightful place in His creation" !

The Wednesday service with it's beautiful music, readings & testimonies was superb, truly heart felt, so much so that I had tears streaming down my face. I thought well you can't get much better than that. Then you followed with a Unity Watch for Thursday that was absolutely perfect. It just keeps getting better and better, Thanks Plainfield for sharing GENUINE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE with the world.

Such a wonderful service this sunday november 29. the reading and the hymns were perfect, and the rendering of Psalm 91 was fun yet moving.

I just came from moderating this week's Bible Study class. Not only was this an eye-opening experience, in which I had the good fortune of learning more about King Hezekiah and his amazing life, but I feel so up-lifted by everyone's answers, insight, and the discussion, that I've come away with so much more than before. What a wonderful way to get to know the Bible better,(I knew nothing of Hezekiah before), and to know God better. As I said before, everyone should "try it, you'll like it!" Thank you all for your help by participating today...(It has been a blessing.)
#601 jacob45 2015-11-27 21:13
the readings wednesday evening were great, thanks ladies!

Thanks to Joseph in the U.K. for his recent testimony which finally put me over the top with my desire to mark Science and Health and the Bible, rather than reading the weekly lessons from the full text quarterly. Yesterday, with what I had on hand, no markers, I was able to mark the books very nicely, and what a delight it was to me to read the lesson from the books. Thanks Plainfield for the multitudinous ways the church blesses one and all.
#599 MaryBeth 2015-11-25 08:40
Thank you very much Joseph for sending us the article, "The Day After Thanksgiving" written by Mrs. Eddy in 1864. It is so interesting to get a glimpse into her life at that time.

Thank you so much for the Nov. 22 Roundtable and service. It really helped clear up some questions I have had.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for that beautiful solo, The Transfiguration , this morning. I had been praying all week that it would be sung. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you again!
#596 JoanneF 2015-11-21 10:40
Saturday mornings have always been very difficult for me in the past, but now I have something uplifting and wonderful to participate in. For about a year I had been looking (unsuccessfully ) for a local Bible Study group, and I'm grateful to say now I've found one that is spiritually satisfying. Thank you for making this Bible Study available, and to all those who share in it.
#595 janetm 2015-11-19 08:11
Thank you for a very inspiring Wednesday Service. The readings were excellent! So beautifully read that I felt the power of Love in each word. I know this powerful word of God touched each individual consciousness and healed!
#594 barbw 2015-11-19 01:38
The Wednesday evening service was wonderful. Mrs. Eddy's article, Fidelity, much of which was read, is full of useful reminders, rebukes if needed, much needed to me. Thanks so much for having the replay so immediately available.
#593 DaleW 2015-11-12 15:27
Thank you so much for everything in Wednesday's (11/11) service and also in the October newsletter, including Jim's reminder to read and value the Constitution of the United States of America -- we are so blessed in this country to have protection of our freedom, and to realize that it is all God-given.
#592 chull 2015-11-11 20:31
Thank you for the articles found on our website. I was praying about pain and fear during an independent watch and found an article called
The Cure of Fear by Willis F. Gross. " God did not make pain, so it is not----cannot be in you".
