The Bible promises that “Nothing is impossible to God”. We take this promise very seriously.
Why? First, because the Gospels set the precedent, with many “impossible” healings by Christ Jesus, and he stated: “He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also, and greater works than these shall he do.”(John 14:12) Second, Mary Baker Eddy had a revelation that explains clearly the principle behind Christ’s healing, and she provided plenty of proof of its power. Furthermore, she taught others “with signs following”. Finally, we today have witnessed the demonstration of Christian Science healing – unmistakable because physically impossible! The Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, provides ample guidance in this healing work. The last chapter entitled Fruitage includes many dramatic healings that came about simply by reading the textbook.

However, Mrs. Eddy saw fit to establish the Office of Practitioner as an aid to anyone caught up in a problem that they can not overcome on their own.

The following quote from the textbook shows clearly that Christian Science healing is not accomplished by a person, nor is it faith healing: “Hold perpetually this thought, – that it is the spiritual idea, the Holy Ghost and Christ, which enables you to prove with scientific certainty, the rule of healing, based upon its divine Principle, Love, underlying, overlying, and encompassing all true being.” (496: 15, S&H)
