The Ability to Overcome

The lesson is full of the ideas that confer my ability to overcome the evils of sin, disease and death:

1.Obedience to the commandments, adherence to the moral requisites.
2.To know that disease is fear manifested on the body.
3.To remain absolutely clear that I am not a material being.
4.The Truth I am perpetually holding in thought will strip off the disguise of evil's seeming power and reality.
5.To be always clear that there is not a single pain (or any form of discord) that cannot be RULED out by the might of MIND!

25 (Mind)-31
"Mind is the divine Principle, Love, and can produce nothing unlike the eternal Father-Mother, God." This just sums it all up. Thanks to lesson writer.

Re: The Ability to Overcome

This goes along with something I got from the Golden Text. What is the price of freedom from the law of sin and death? You mentioned one - Obedience to the still small voice of Truth, which we can hear only through our spiritual sense.

Another is vigilance in enforcing God's law. Whenever I sense something that is an offense to God, whether it be in my own consciousness, my family, my church, my government, do something about it. "The only course is to take antagonistic grounds against all that is opposed to the health, holiness, and harmony of man, God's image."

Another is to have a selfless love for my neighbor - to see him as God's image, and to put his welfare above my own. This is the "Christian" in Christian Science.

To me, this is what it means to "walk in the Spirit." Not a cake-walk, but a battle with the flesh and selfishness and pride, and all its lies. Only then is the battle won and the freedom gained.

Thank you, Florence. I do strive to do this and live above corporeal sense. It is a warfare, but God good is all. At the end of the day I have to know that the victory is God's. I am not making this true, IT IS TRUE.
