Fearful thing?

"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."RR
WHAT?? I thought God is Love? Must be a translation issue or something. I am confident that no matter how badly I screw up, He will forgive me. ...although I am a little uneasy about this "Everlasting Punishment" thing. ...confusing!!

Re: Fearful thing?

If you haven't repented of your sins and find yourself in the hands of the living God, Yikes. The verse right before the exposure. Heb: 10:30 "For we know him that hath said (Dt. 32:35-36), Vengeace belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people." Vegeance with a capital "V" and no place to hide falling into the hands of the living God if it wasn't for Moses and the prophets pleading with God who so many times would had destroyed all of Israel for murring and worshiping other gods truly the Lord is long suffering.

Re: Fearful thing?

It may be a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God, but it is a liberating, empowering thing to rise into the hands of the living God.

Divine Principle cuts both ways. It rewards righteousness, but it destroys sin. This verse refers to those who sin willfully when they know better. If, after I have been taught Christian Science, I willfully disobey God, willfully support a corrupt organization, willfully cling to my human family and disregard all others, continue to love my material pleasures, then my life may very well feel like everlasting punishment. Because divine Principle, which is omnipresent and omnipotent, destroys these sins.

If, however, I grow in grace and love for mankind, humbly obeying God, standing for Truth and trusting the consequences to God, my life will find purpose and meaning and will be supported by divine Principle. There will be great challenges, but it will be a liberating and empowering experience to rise into the hands of the living God.
